Services for students with disabilities at our university are carried out through the Students with Disabilities Unit Coordination Office, which operates directly under the Rectorate. The duties, powers, and responsibilities of the Coordination Office are defined by the relevant directive, and implementation and monitoring processes are conducted across all faculties through academic unit representatives.
In order to facilitate access to educational processes for students with disabilities, the "Education, Training, and Exam Implementation Principles for Students with Disabilities" are in effect. Within this scope, exams for students with disabilities can be conducted in suitable environments, in separate rooms when necessary, and accompanied by a supervisor; adaptations can also be made according to individual needs.
Regarding physical accessibility, the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) building is equipped with elevators and ramps suitable for the use of students with disabilities, ensuring their access to classrooms, laboratories, and common areas.
To support the social and academic integration of students with disabilities, awareness training sessions are organized by the Students with Disabilities Unit. Additionally, students can directly convey their issues, and administrative and academic support is provided when necessary.
In terms of digital accessibility, while the information systems used at the university are open to all students, applications regarding accessible document formats and special digital adaptations remain at a limited level. For instance, accessibility is supported in the library by providing specialized equipment for students with disabilities, such as zoom devices, screen/book readers, Braille printers, and magnifiers.
As part of the support mechanisms for students with disabilities, students with certified disability levels of a certain percentage can benefit from social support services, such as meal assistance.
